i mean sounds doable but i don't think you want to rewrite all the events there are a lot of those i think you should just try to match up their personalities a bit or just change/make enough events for one long game (the rest can be an incorrect quotes type of situation)
Also i think your biggest issue would be if you want anyone else to play the mod as a lot of people don't want to change essentially the whole game for a mod and you'd need some other site for people to download the files (which would be huge if you're changing the characters and events).
I don't know how to code or even if what i said makes sense computer wise but in my opinion if you want to mess around with the files for a mod for yourself then go for it, if you want a lot of people to play it try making a smaller version? i doubt a lot of people will want to change that much about the game.
