Protein paste also works well in terran sectors, can make a lot of money /hour don't really remember how much it made but it was one of the most profitable in all the games I played
Yeah but that's usually not something you build to get started it's more expensive
I usually "rush" the blueprint theft thing then just get the prints that way. Then for the building costs I just sink in what I can when I can from missions or boarding or whatever. Eventually you'll get it built.
But, like we were saying, it's easier to start with a little mining outpost and then from there you can upgrade your mining station into whatever tickles your fancy.
I traditionally move my entire first Teladi Station (yes, i start as that Lizard) into Grand Exchange and simply rebuild it there, eventually merge it piece by piece with the PHQ pretty early... it never let me down and always made stable Money.
You'll need some miners to mine (of course) and you'll also need some more miners to act as traders. Regular trade vessels can't carry ore, so you'll need mining vessels to ferry it out to the NPC stations.
I mention this because the Sol area has huge energy bonus around Mercury (naturally) and slowly drops away to no output at all around Pluto. This means that the Terran economy is a constant flow of freighters hauling energy cells outward through the solar system.
However, if you build a station using Argon collectors at the midway point you can cut into that pipeline very easily. Yes, they won't be producing massive amount of cells, but they'll still be producing them and in places where Terran solar plants can longer produce energy cells at all.
This will give you a localized mini-monopoloy in that sector, as you'll be the one station that can get those cells delivered in five minutes instead of five hours like those Mercury runners need.
