Langage localisation in the XML file
Hey guys,

I was wondering, is there any correct list of all langages that you can add as new columns in the localisation XML file when creating a mod?
There is a sample that I have been using for all my mods which only have French-Polish-German-Russian as additionnal langages outside of english, and I wanted to add more.

The point here is just to get rid of the "~!~" sign which appear every time you see a non supported langage texte by copy pasting the english translation onto these new columns. What I am looking for is the very precise word for other langages.

I am assuming for example that "Spanish", "Portugese" or "Chinese" *could* work but if I misspell something I have no easy way to verify, so I am just asking if someone has some info about this :)

The thing is that you need to replace 1 column. I believe Chinese, Spanish and those mods replace all English text in the game.

Yes they do, but they also adds annoying signs on both sides of the string :

for example : "Sorcery I" in the english column, and nothing in the French column will appear like this in my game :
~!~ Sorcery I ~!~
While if I do copy paste the english text in the french column, in-game it will look like this :
Sorcery I
And I find it much better to read. I am happy to copy paste all the english text across all columns, but I wanted to be sure I will not do any mistakes about the langage name (=the titles of each columns).

I'm unsure how much work there but. It's alot of text to translate. I know a French guy who corrected alot French bonjour stuff in our mods.

It's like a endless work since even English is wrong time to time where it's even lacking context and stuff.

But it's possible to extract all text from the game if you're interested to convert all 8ld files. I got the program somewhere

Actually, it's much more simple than that- I just want the exact word associated with a langage in the XML file.
If you want a column for the spanish langage localisation, for the first row is it Spanish or Spain? or something else?
That's all I wanted to know, although I can definitely guess what word corresponds to a langage.

Spanish.. Spain is typically referred as the country's name.

Swedish.. Sweden is typically referred as the country's name.

Italian.. Italy is typically referred as the country's name

So in the collums it would be:

SPANISH SWEDISH ITALIAN DANISH etc

I don't think it matters particular if the game hardcoded engine of the game translate everything as the 5 main languages still. It will still read as them as that up to a point where you start the game and enter menu of the actual game where translation started.

So if Spanish is your preferred language you could very well name it to PREMIUM_SPANISH. Im inclined to believe that a few of those column does not matter that much as the game reads them anyway in those orders and below.

There could be a way to add a 6th in the excel xlm file language in case there is options in the mod editor to actually support that by finding a mod entry controlling the language.

However I believe it's hardcoded so we stuck those 5 collums.
