Workshop previously suffered from constant errors and file data losses. This caused many authors and users to pull back from it. Now things have settled down, but mostly because Workshop is no longer under notable stress, due to reduces user numbers.
No one is managing this platform. BGS pulled completely away after Curated Workshop. Skyrim Workshop lives on Steam updates to main system. Nothing is being done otherwise.
Skyrim SE got compiler update last year. Now it's scripting engine works far better than before, in addition of x64 architecture benefits for memory management. After the dust settled down, pretty much every notable project is no aimed at SE.
I understand that Workshop remains easy to use for many. Keep using it, if you wish. But most mods go to Nexuus, due to limitations, and most notable new projects are made for SE, due to memory, VRAM management (ie: not needed, like for old version of the game) and script performance benefits.
Yeah I could have brought over things like WARP and World Encounters but that requires links...and we all know that Steam doesn't like links...besides I have to worry about them getting mad at me...issuing warnings and banning me for a day or week.
Who wants to work in a environment like that ? No-one...
