Game modding is dead?
I recently returned to play CTA. However, as far as I seen, mods pretty much dead, outdated or frozen. The game also look pretty paused/dead for me as no major content coming or update.

Have you considered a fact that modding is act of art and you cannot just pump out art constantly? There needs to be some inspiration and downtime...

Also consider that there are plenty of mods available, what else is there to re-invent? People rarely work for free, modders would when they have free time. Would you ask a community to placate to your constant hunger for something new?

I mean, there's less and less mods as an addons for conquest, missions, etc and much more for editor only. I'm perfectly know it's not just a thing from the middle of nowhere...

A majority of the big modders and continuously updated mod content are on GoH instead of CtA. GoH is just more updated and the WW2 setting generally attracts the playerbase more. CtA is just less updated and with some of DMS' staff still in Ukraine, development comes to a halt while they're still trying to update CtA's engine at some point.

GoH is just generally better unless you want a modern era timeline, in which case you have CtA for that... albeit modding has gotten very dry. It is possible to make a modern era/timeline mod for GoH but to make a fledged out one with all the assets and map objects would bloat the mod size massively to the point downloading it would be very unstable and difficult.

Worth noting GoH still has more features of utility such as formation, choosing how far troops are spread, better optimized for large maps and bigger amount of entities, etc.

Id love to bolster my own mod with other people's mods, but thats stealing lol.

I see a couple of mods that appear to add a ton of tanks. Id love to expand the variety of vehicles in conquest beyond 3 nations using the same T-80....

Itd also be cool to add the British, I see there is a mod that kinda sorta does it.

Thanks for your answer. Also, it's Best Way's staff which is in Ukraine, not DMS. DMS is the one based in Ulm, Germany.

So you suggest me to try GoH? Compared to MoWAS2, it's waybetter and have more feature than CtA?

Well, I'd suggest watching gameplays of GoH and decide for yourself if it's worth it for you. Personally I'd pick it over AS2 anyday.

I had sooo much for CtA... I loved it and still playing vanilla, but missing some contents from it. Don't know why are they paused it and created GoH... they also developed a year after CtA came out the MoWAS2 Cold War... feels like they just put the CtA on the table, half finished just to move on to another game:/
