A way to make US soldiers use the vanilla multicam ("forest" uniform) on vanilla maps and campaign?
Something that bugs me is how on desert maps the US soldiers still use UCP instead of multicam, even though they have multicam in the game... but only for "forest" maps for some reason? I was hoping someone out there would have made a mod by now to just swap the "desert" uniform with the textures of the "forest" uniform so that the US soldiers use multicam everywhere but snow maps. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Is there some way to do this using nothing but the vanilla assets and maps? I don't want to edit the maps themselves, and I'd like to not swap the entire seasons of the maps because then the soldiers of all the other factions will be using their own forest uniforms in the middle of the desert. Preferably, it would be swapping which texture is used for the the "desert" uniform on the US soldiers (all but the snipers, tankers, and marines since the marine uniforms actually fit) so that it would work across the board in campaign and skirmish but ONLY for the US.

I'm totally new to the CTA editor, though I have used some game editors in the past. So I'm not totally helpless, but I am quite inexperienced with this particular tool. I've figured out how to swap uniforms on individual soldiers you spawn in with the editor, and how to swap the seasons on maps, but as detailed above that isn't quite what I'm looking for.

Is there some way to use the editor for this? Or has there been a mod already made for this that's just hiding from me somewhere?

Any help would be appreciated!

I believe that would require editing of maps to specify "camo" style on each unit map creates. Basically there is a setting that tells each unit which style textures to use. However since all units are hardcoded on map, you need to add/replace such parameter manually, either via opening map data in text editor or game editor.

I found that setting, but as I said it's not quite what I was looking for. Unless I'm misunderstanding. I found the setting in the map editor to specify the "season," which is essentially the camo textures that all units use. If you mean something else, though, then that's what I was afraid of.

Kind of frustrating they have multicam in the game but continue to use UCP for desert maps, for some reason. Oh well, will just have to put up with it. Thanks for the reply.

if you want to you can make a mod, copy in the normal texture file (forest) and add the extension
#desert.
In any desert enivronment it'll load the normal skin
