What Mods Should I Get?

I just got the game. A lot of reviewers told me to use mods.
Are there "Must use" mods that I should definitely grab?

Animation skip for traveling to a new star system is a good one as watching it 700 times gets kind of old when all the systems look the same.

Xenopax optimizer and Art optimizer mods. I noticed a huge difference in performance with the latter. Looks better too.

I would recommend playing through the campaign the first time as vanilla as possible. The developers spent 10,000's of hours and $1,000,000's making the game. Personally I find it rude not to play it through at least once as they intended it to be. Maybe just pop on a few of the performance mods and jump skip as suggested. You wont know what you like and dislike if you don't give vanilla a try first :)
