we are very limited in what we can do. the option has to be in the FCS for us to be able to mod it. ( except meshes and animations )
The Dev never intended to go down that route that your asking for so no game mechanic's for it where added. he wasn't trying to make it like other games that you mentioned, but something original.
what we can do is make abandoned towns and the like able to be purchased and then you can rebuild the buildings then. but a full takeover will never be possible.
as for squads, we can add roaming squads, but that's about it, we can not make them go to war with each other and try and take over towns.
there are town overrides, but this depends on the player doing certain things to make these become enacted. we cant make NPCs do it. unless we edit the spawns. and those tend to be random. you can do a lot with that, but never able to direct where you want them to go.
but that's goes for any game really.
We just go with what we are given and what the Devs vision was.
But Kenshi 2 should be out in about 2 or 4 year's. doubt it will have what your looking for still, but i do know they will have more feature's. ones they couldn't put in this game due to the games engine.
