Skin quality values question
The game has a slider that goes from 0.00 to 1.00. Which values are the ones the game uses for the different qualities?

It seems to me that nothing below 0.50 is ever used in the game. Anyone has the actual numbers at hand? From the game's code or whatever.

In all my time fiddling with skins I never did spot something about the damages so nothing from me :3

Beyond the fact your weapons are gonna get naturally worn and change quality, you can be creative and use the fact as your advantage.

Take a look an example which I believe pretty much sums up pure creativity and craftsmanship regarding weapon quality:

I already know about that skin, it's one of the first skins that came out and one of the very few I gave a thumbs up (And not even because I like how it looks like but simply because how original the concept is).

That still doesn't answer my question though :emmo:

We have 5 weapon condition statuses:

5. Battle-Worn
4. Well-Used
3. Broken-In
2. Lightly-Marked
1. Mint-Condition

Correct if I'm wrong but by assumption if we have a 100% (1.00) quality meter and 5 condition statuses, it probably means each one represents 20% (0.20) of the overall quality.

That's what I thought, too.

I found it!
  • Mint is 1
  • Lightly is 0.8
  • Broken is 0.6
  • WellUsed is 0.45
  • BattWorn is 0.3

Thanks! I'll later update my submissions with those values. I just took shots of random values so it's good to know the actual ones.

can you check how different those values are from pre-Bodhi skins and post-Bodhi?

Most skins after Bodhi are pretty decent, even battle worn. While some COP and older skins look sh*tty even Lightly Marked.

All damage values are exactly the same, I think its the CC textures that choose how damaged exactly it is... Ill try to chat with joakim to see if we can level out the look of the damage to every skin or at least have newer weapons not be more or less damage than a certain line.
