Steam Locomotive Wheel Arrangement

Hey all
Recently I've been getting into the specifics of steam locomotives and have a question, what's the difference between an 0-8-0 as a posed to a 4-6-0, 2-8-0 or 4-6-4?

The 3 figures relate to the layout of wheels as follows.

0-8-0. No front bogie, 8 coupled driving wheels (4 per side), no "pony truck" under cab.

4-6-0. Front bogie 2 axles, 4 wheels. 6 coupled driving wheels (3 per side). No pony truck.

4-6-2. Front bogie 2 axles, 4 wheels. 6 coupled driving wheels (3 per side). Pony truck with 1 axle, 2 wheels.

2-10-0. Front bogie 1 axle 2 wheels. 10 coupled driving wheels (5 per side). No pony truck.

Google "Steam Loco wheel arrangements" and that will give you more info.

Alrighty thanks man :) I've got an 0-8-0, 2-8-0, 2-8-2 and a 4-6-4 locomotive and was always curious what those meant

Alright I'll take a look
