Mod Idea: Flotsam Collector
I would love a mod that enables semi/automatic collection of the little flotsam boxes in the open ocean. As a single player i find it far too tedious to stop the ship, or whistle my helmsman to stop and turn for every little box.

A manned railing add-on like a cargo rack. An unlimited/cheap harpoon for the ballista, that tracks, shoots, and reels in the boxes. Even a small swivel gun station i could man would be great. I don't know if anyone else wants that, but I thought it was a cool idea so I'm sharing it here.

this sounds like something the grappling hook could be set to do with an NPC. that logic can be easily copied into buildings. This sounds like a good milestone, but small enough for you to attempt. Go to epic games store and download the devkit, it's a hefty chunk of bites but you'll be able to individually load in these assets and edit their blueprints and mix stuff together. It's a real blessing that the availability of these assets has been streamlined together, if not only for educational purposes for how unreal engine works, but for you to be able to create this experience yourself when others have moved on and are not available.

There's other examples of NPC's setting up tracing to sight objects to attack, it's probably a very similar thing but asking it to sight flotsam objects instead.

If all of these objects are modular blueprints, you just have to ask it to attack smithy instead of chicken and it will connect to that one instead.
