Character mods not working

I downloaded a few, went into the game, added the mods to a new save but the characters do not show up in the stage coach, even if i download the thing that does an instant town event for those characters it does not happen

Ensure that they are enabled, and that another mod is not conflicting with them. If they are from the workshop they should work right out of the box, but I'd also double check the mod description in case it requires folders to be manually moved.
