mods and their discord

im no fan of discord, kinda kills the internet.
the workshop page on steam has it all:
- description of the mod
- comment section
- forum section
- changelog

some mods use this just perfectly fine - others: "join the discord for more information."

its really a shame that so much info is locked behind some 3rd party sites.

someday they can close down google, cos if u search sth there, all the answers will be behind some discord servers.

I too am not a fan of the "cone to our discord to get the dl link".

I basically don't bother, perhaps I'm a dinosaur but I like to keep things simple for the end user.

i can understand if they lock their comment and forum section, we both know perfectly fine how awful this community can be, even towards people that give free content to us.
but locking crucial info for big mods (im not gonna name and shame) behind their discords is kinda meh.

haha this kinda fits: since today reading tweets on twitter requires u to login. seems reddit goin the same way.
lets keep destroying the internet!

I despise Discord, because Discord is a cesspool of phishing scams and hackers (note, I did not say "cheaters", as they are not the same thing.) and Discord does very little to fix the problem.
-As for Reddit and Twitter, I think it depends on where you browse from. Depending on my vpn connection, sometimes I need to be signed in, sometimes not.
