weird campaign AI behavior - caused by mods?
Hello everyone,

I have encountered a weird thing the AI did on the campaign map - I am not too far in my campaign as Romans but this happened at least twice already. There was an enemy city I was about to conquer that had strong enemy armies in nearby. A short time before I reach it they withdraw their armies and basically leave the city as an easy target.
Is this something that can come from using outdated mods?
This is frustrating because I like this game and want to have some challenge.

I play Rome II Emperor Edition with "4 Turns Per Year"
"Guaranteed Major Factrion Empires" "A More Aggressive AI" "
"Better AI Recruitment" and "Community Patch for ROME II
(V.2.3) as well as "Increased Spotting Distances for a more tactical AI"

you could just say ai sucks

That's not weird, the Rome 2 AI just sucks and is really passive. For some reason the aggressive AI mods seem to make the AI more unwilling to take a straight up fight. Sadly, you're not going to get any kind of challenge unless you do multi-player

Thanks for the info about "aggressive AI". I think I will turn it off for now.

Use the Wars of the Gods mod and the AI will fight you tooth and nail.
