WorkShop Mods Info
I reported a mod for reuploaded/stolen content but nothing was done.

The main reason for this is because your report wasn't valid.

For a report to be acted on proof needs to be supplied. Reports that just say "stolen mod" or "reupload" isn't useful in anyway and will likely just be ignored. Ideally you need to link to the original mod from a reputable source such as Workshop or the SCS Forum.

In the case of stolen content where only small parts/materials are used you should also state which parts are yours so we can compare the content.

In some cases Steam global officers( appointed by Valve not SCS) might just close the report, they aren't supposed to do this but it happens. Unfortunately they ignore the reports and just close them no matter the issue. So if more than 12hrs have gone by, the mod is still public, and you're sure it violates a rule please feel free to report it again. If need be post about it in this forum so one of the SCS assigned officers/moderators can look into it or contact one of us directly.

Information/Links in my mod description have disappeared, what's happened?

This happens for one of two reasons. Either your mod has been reported by someone or the automated system has flagged it as potentially ban-able. In these cases there is nothing for you to do, just wait patiently for an Officer to deal with the report/flag and assuming there's nothing wrong, the links will return once the report is cleared.

Why was my mod listed as incompatible?

Mods are generally listed as incompatible because the upload failed or because the mod is no longer supported by the available game versions (including compatibility branches) on Steam and haven't been updated in a long time.

Please note: We don't actively check for outdated mods, but if one is reported it maybe listed as incompatible

Another reason a mod may be listed as incompatible is if the Title, Description, or Preview images are not appropriate to the mod. While it is acceptable to use a standard image for all your mods; such as modder name or group name, it is always advised to add an additional image where appropriate or make sure the description gives a details note of the content.

Why was my mod banned?

The main reason for a mod being banned is breaking the rules.

1. ETS2 & ATS are 3+ age rated games. As such anything that is overly sexual*, violent, drugs, alcohol**, political, racial, or anything else that wouldn't be suitable for minors should not be posted.

*When it comes to sexual content we have different methods of dealing with it. If it's deemed mildly sexualised then we will just add the nudity content tag using the Update Content Descriptors option. This option is available to modders after upload too, so you can add the tags yourself).

If it's deemed too sexual/inappropriate then the mod will likely be banned.

If you upload anything that could be considered pornographic including nudity you may also receive a permanent Workshop Ban.

**When it comes to alcohol we do make exceptions for replica skins for trucks/trailers that are of an alcoholic nature. Due to the nature of the games it's understandable that people will want to replicate the real thing, so if you would see it on the road IRL it's okay to upload.

2. Due to Steam's UCG content terms it is not permitted for anyone to upload content created by another modder. It doesn't matter if you have permission and give credits it is simply not allowed.

There is an exception for modding groups. Just be sure to include the group name in the description. You can also add the other authors as contributors under the Owner Controls panel.

3. Piracy. It is not permitted to upload any mods that include paid DLC content, content that is tradable via Steam Marketplace, and porting trucks from one game to the other.

It is allowable to include DLC models if you have edited them to work with modded trailers/trucks. In this case you must NOT include the textures from the DLC, so that anyone who doesn't have the DLC will see the pink texture errors.

Be warned; malicious uploading of DLC content will receive a permanent Workshop ban.

4. A report was made about stolen content or another infringement but we were unable to verify the content. This is usually due to the mod being locked/damaged in such a way that it is not accessible to us, as such we will often take the safer route of removing the mod. However this is dealt with on a case by case basis and we will also take into account your mod ban history.

5. It's an error. As shocking as it may be, the volunteer officers are (mostly) humans too. We can and do make mistakes.

I believe my mod was banned in error, what do I do?

Do not delete the mod until you are sure it will not be unbanned. If you delete the mod it removes it from the system including the ban reason, once it's deleted there is nothing we can do. We won't even know the reason for it being banned.

Although the ban message states to contact Steam, don't bother. If something is removed by a SCS appointed Steam officer then you will just get a generic reply about Steam not removing it and they can't help you.

If you find a post/topic by an Officer/Moderator, click on their username and there should be an option to send a Private Message.

Alternatively if the PM option isn't available to you you can make a post about it in this forum. In both cases, remember to include the link to the mod, it'll speed things up.

Most importantly stay calm and polite. While we can understand being frustrated by a mod removal, being rude/aggressive to us isn't going to help you at all. Remember we are volunteers, we don't get paid to do this and we don't have to help you. So be nice, it's in your own best interest.

In the event that a mod was banned in error, we can restore the mod and the ban record on your account will be modified as if it never happened. This is also why you shouldn't delete the mod prematurely, if you delete the mod then then your record will forever show you have had a banned mod.

My mod was banned, can you unban it so I can fix the issue?

This is at the discretion of the officer/moderator.

If you have an otherwise clean record and we believe there was no ill intent, we may be willing to unban the mod when you are ready to upload a fixed version with the offending parts removed.

But again this is at the discretion of the moderator and on a case by case basis. In most cases it will likely be denied.

Nothing to add, but thank you for this clarification, some questions I had are answered :-)

Thanks for unlocking the discussion. One thing that's missing is how/where to file a report. I presume it's through the report system for violating Steam Online Conduct Rules (button with the flag)?

Exactly. And as said, if nothing appears to happen with the reported mod, contact one of us directly or post a thread in the Workshop forum about it (with link). Valve moderators seem to dismiss mod reports without taking action.
