Door count if no doors are there
The mod guide says for door count "do not declare if 0 or unknown", so this somehow seems to mean that if it is either 0 or undeclared, the game will assume "curtainsider", i.e. infinte doors. Doing some private modification to trains, I just wonder what I should do for example with a restaurant car that actually does not have any passenger doors at all. If I set 0, the restaurant will probably be considered completely open to the side and spoil dwell time calculations. Closest to 0 is 1, but I wonder if there is actually a possibility to kick a vehicle completely out of door count for the whole train without making it infinite doors but really zero.

Doors are for now ignored for pax station flow. When that changes, the car pax capacity will also be considered, so cars with 0 pax won't have any influence in pax flow. A restaurant declaring 0 pax would be ignored for pax flow, even if it declares 100 doors.

hmm, I do think it makes some sense to add up all doors of a consist? I've definitely boarded through a restaurant coach before. Or regularly board through a first class coach, only to move inside the train to a second class coach.

I just thought of the opposite too: there are cars with capacity for pax but 0 doors. (relying on other cars)
examples are trams or the SNCF Regio 2N. :)

Indeed, some vehicles as mentioned have door modules and exit modules. And also passengers can spread over the consist. We here have Talent DMU and for some seats it is closer to use the door in the next module than the one where your seat is in.
And in the end I tend to count restaurant seats as well - albeit there are just 24 or so in that car. When ICE trains were overcroweded I already have gone there, taken a seat, clinged to a cup of tea and a piece of cake for 80 minutes :steamhappy: That's better than sitting on the floor for that time.
