Model editing with Hammer
Hello again! Working on another Destinations map import project and I'm running into quite a few issues with the models that basically boils down to an issue of editing objects that are baked into the file that either shouldn't be there, should be there and aren't, or should be detached so I can apply physics meshes differently.

My question is is it possible to copy or separate out parts of models using Hammer itself? I started by trying to do this through Blender, but the model is absolutely huge and none of the tutorials I have tried explain the tools well enough for me to replicate what I want without deleting every individual piece of the map I don't want and exporting again, which even then is a humongous time sink, not 100% effective, and has messed with texture assignments on the one map I DID attempt to do that with so far.

Is there a way I can skip the Blender steps and edit the models in Hammer, or am I going to have to proverbially "git gud" with Blender? If so, are there any tutorial videos or documentation you guys would recommend that don't involve someone speeding through with keyboard shortcuts and jargon?

Any help would be appreciated!

In the long run, I'd recommend that you put in the time to learn Blender, but Hammer has surprisingly powerful modeling and sculpting tools that should do most of what you need. It has been a long time since I've played with SteamVR environments, so I've forgotten a lot of the specifics, but this documentation on mesh editing should get you started- Basic Construction
So turns out what I was looking for was the "Convert Models to editable meshes" button lol, 3 days of problems resolved

Ah, yes. I remembered that I was able to edit any mesh in Hammer, but I forgot about the convert button. I'm glad you figured it out.
