ME needs more Biodiversity!

I propose two mods: Biodiversity: Flora and Biodiversity: Fauna. Each would be a framework allowing modders to add new critters to hunt/farm (and be hunted by, as in wolf packs and bears) and new plants to harvest and create products with (instead of generic herbs have actual herbs such as Yarrow and Coneflower and Mandrake, et.al.).

Imagine walking over a hilltop to see the Steppe spreading out before you with herds of Auroch and Bison, with prides of Lions, and packs of Hyena. Or seeing Mountain Goats and Big Horn Sheep (nice wool!) grazing on Lichen (a natural source of Iodine).
