Train asset making
Just curious as too how long and how difficult it is to make locomotive assets for the game I noticed there’s acouple that arnt in the game or there are no mods for yet and I would love to either have someone make that if it no trouble or even just attempting myself but I wanted to here from community first

Depends how skilled you are and how complex the model is. Gathering reference can be hard if the model is old or rare and there are not much photos of it. But if the model is common and fairly new so there's lots of good reference, for me, it could take few weeks to one month from scratch to full locomotive mod. That is if I could work full time but there's always something that pushes developing the mod further and further.

Oh wow I figured a lot went into it but I didn’t realize that much the only two engines I would want would be the southern pacific daylight 4449 and the Pennsylvania railroad streamlined K4s Ik for the daylight there’s probably hundreds of references for and I was surprised to not see it in the game already but now realizing wat all goes into making just a single mod it’s alot and I see why but thanks for the insight

I wanna add as an american, modern locomotives can be hard to get plans for as they're locked up, unless they're owned by governmental entities.

I usually make models I can get drawings for. If you dont have ADHD, and have a full time, the berks took me about 10-12 weeks. but thats an experienced modeler. start with something small like a boxcar!
