Uploading other peoples maps?
Workshop database isn't big face it. How would this community feel if I was to upload some of my favorite maps on here, just for the sake of putting them on servers and enjoying them online with my clan mates. Obviously crediting original authors of every map out of common respect. In advance thank you.

so what choice do I have then? There are several maps I really wanna put up on our servers for the public to enjoy, but as I understand the only way to do it is by uploading it to the workshop? so im a bit stuck here :/

Contact the authors and ask them to do it.

Nothing wrong with it open the pak3 and look at the readme... The only thing they dont want you to do is sell it as yours! Go look at the workshop its full of pak3 files that they did not create! just give props.. you are only the publisher to steam workshop.

Completely false. Copyright exists for community-made maps too, and modifying and republishing it on the workshop does not equal the old "distribute this zip archive unmodified intact" common sense adage.

Also, here's one thing you agree to when you use Steam :

In particular, with respect to Workshop Contributions, you represent and warrant that the Workshop Contribution was originally created by you (or, with respect to a Workshop Contribution to which others contributed besides you, by you and the other contributors, and in such case that you have the right to submit such Workshop Contribution on behalf of those other contributors).
