I have had so much trouble with this that I won't even try to play them anymore. My pc is older and only gets 2g, so that is surely part of my problem, however, when I made my first custom course (soon to be published) I also noticed that one must be exceptionally careful of just how many objects they create! Stuff gets lost or duplicated or is a buggy item (like bones) that replicates itself, and this just sucks up unnecessary resources. I would love to see cleanup on these courses so they can actually be played by everyone and not just those with gaming quality machines.

That being said, I haven't published my course yet, so maybe I'm wrong and it's just solar flares.

I've found a work-around, if you're interested. However, I will also say that I built a new PC this year so that might help me a bit. I hope all goes well with the new course you're building! I've haven't had the time/inspiration/nerve to try that yet.

I too had the self-replicating problem. I discovered it was being cause by the "auto-walls" replicating the railings. I removed the railings and replaced them each by hand, and the replication stopped. Hopefully this discovery will help others!

The workaround was to open the game, head to the workshop while in the game, subscribe to whatever course, try to load it, it doesn't load. Exit the game, unsubscribe, go back into the game, head to the workshop again, subscribe again, and then it should work.

It's time-consuming, and I hope that explanation was clear, but it works.

worth a try. sounds like a matter of getting the map resources on the harddrive before trying to play - makes sense.

I don't know why it works, but it seems to work, at least for me.
