"Max Speed" Mods not Working in Ares at War
I tried using mods that increase the max speed to 1,000 and 10,000, but neither of them worked. It's stuck at the 300 m/s of whatever mod ares at war uses for that increase. Putting them at the top of the load order did not work.

Does anyone know a mod that works to change this, or any other way i can change it.

Hi, I would create a Testing world and add one Mod at a time to pinpoint the conflcting ones and be sure all Mods you use are not broken.
+
Fix the original save once solution found in the testing world.

There are a lot of Speed Mods on the Workshop, you may be using a broken Mod and testing other Mods may give a compatible one.

________

++
Keep in mind some Mods can do more damages when removing the Mod and why it is very important to test in copies of your save.

You may follow the steps we all do after a game update to pinpoint the Mods that are not compatible in the new game version.

How to test a world or find broken/conflicting Mods :

1 - Select your save.
2 - Click the "Save as" button on the left.
3 - Change the save name to create a *copy.
4 - Withdraw or add one Mod at a time in the copy.

5 - Report to the Mod author (on WS item page) when broken Mod found so he can fix/update his Mod, always very kind to let them know.

*copy
Never test with your original save, better create a copy and fix the original save when solution found in the copy, this way you will not mess up your save.

If you looked at the detail of 'Ares at War' you would see the included speed mod, and if you look at the detail of that mod you would see how to change the configured speed without adding any other mod. It's never a good idea to use mods or mod packs without being able to use your eyes and brain to reconfigure them with the tools already provided as part of the pack. ^.^

Chat Commands
/rts help - lists commands
/rts config - shows maximum and minimum values for grids

Appreciate the help, but could do without the sass next time. This stuff is not as self-explanatory as you may think. I'm sure after 14,000 hours in a game, you could forget what it's like to be a casual player.

I just looked at the Workshop item and noticed the author created a Discord server and surely the best place to chat with users and the author.

Some Modders don't share Discord server for bugs so that is a good Plus when available.

Thank you Dan. If I can't figure it out myself by tweaking that mod, I will surely go to their discord and ask around

Youre the best, helpful as always!

Sorry, I should try to avoid posting when I'm having a bad day already... but it's been such a common thread recently, players using huge stacks of mods and then asking for help when things are not going well. Space Engineers by itself has a steep learning curve, and Keen have never been good at providing useful help or documentation, only made worse by the frequency of their changes. Often the complex mods are better documented than the game itself.

All good, it happens. At least you still helped despite your bad mood haha! I know similar questions have been asked, but this specific one i had googled quite a bit and tried things, and still no luck. I don't ask for help before trying to solve a problem myself, to a reasonable extent.

The good news is I figured it out by googling how to change it within that mod. Turns out the creator made an excel sheet which lets you get all the values you need based on the max speed desired.

But yes the game is super complex. That's what makes it really fun though. Luckily i started back when it first released, so I had learned as new stuff released. I think jumping into the game at its current complexity would be pretty daunting

:) same (if by 'released' you mean first appeared on Steam in the early development stage with space empty except for 3 or 5 asteroids), and I agree... but also I see vast differences in the attitudes of players and net users since those days. I am not liking the way the timeline of humanity in general has developed in the last 40 years... just late stage capitalism problems, but I digress...
