Keeping Pickable Items in Place
Is there a way to have a Pickable item stay in a certain position until it is picked up the first time?

I can get a Pickable item to stay with a drawer by setting the drawer to be its Parent, but this only works if gravity is already on its side.

There are two situations I keep running into where this is a problem:

1) Something like a painting on a wall that starts on the wall, but can be picked up. Gravity doesn't like me trying this, even if I set Parents. I saw an old suggestion to just give the item an empty Animation, but at least nowadays I can't have an item be Pickable and have animations.

2) Having an item attached to the back of an item, so that you have to examine the item and turn it around to find the other hidden item and pick it up from there. If I try this, it might start okay, but if I jostle the Parent item, the other item will have physics applied to it separately. It will still be "attached" to the Parent in the sense that if I pick the Parent up, I still pick up the other item, but it could be really far away and just floating.

The easiest way I know to do what you're asking is using slots. You can set objects to start in slots (more or less - objects with physics placed just above the slot for them will fall in and set in position as the level starts. Having the objects in slots will keep them in place and let them be positioned exactly how you want until you pick them up. Using slots also allows you complete freedom in how you position things, doesn't have the issue with objects floating randomly in relation to a parent object, etc., and still lets you keep the physics properties for everything. And if it's meant for a different slot somewhere else, you can still do that, and even set that new slot to parent it once it's inserted.
