If you had, for example, an MML that was WAY off on its' lonesome and you needed to get it back to your lander you could just bring the RC functions online and drive it back to you by remote control.
It would save framerate and resources too. Only need enough gas for a one-way trip out there in a single vehicle.
Does it work the same way with manned vehicles like Scout Buggy or MML?
That could come in very handy.
Uh.. not sure what you mean by 'does it work with... scout buggy / mml' because to use those or interact with them you'd have to be playing as the astronaut. As they are only vehicles and not a playable character per se.
I would love to be able to control the Scout Buggy, MML or the Manned Aerial Transport (MAT) via remote control, similar to the unmanned rovers as it would make moving them around or finding them easier if they're a long way off.
A bit like the HQ from the game "Moonbase Alpha" which was able to control the manned rovers.
In that game you could drive the manned rover around without needing to actually be in the rover by going to the HQ building and using the "remote presence station".
Having a remote control like that which could access their controls would allow you as an astronaut to remotely pilot vehicles back to base or the lander, making finding lost vehicles or astronauts that much easier.
