Simple mods are tasteless
I enjoy a neat phone background and a colorful flashlight as much as the next Contagion player, but these workshop items overwelm the maps, weapon skins, and other items that can prove to be more "useful". I feel Contagion is more realistic than most zombie shooters and putting a silly flashlight or background is putting the Workshop to shame. Create a Lasersight pickup or gear that can be used like body armor. create a riot sheild or new weapons. create a mod that mixes the weapon skins so that it feels like there is a larger amount of weapons in-game. I grow restless of looking in the workshop and seeing a handful of new phone backgrounds and an incomplete map. Does anyone else agree that Contagion modders need to put their crafty skills into something more than a phone background or a flashlight? :bloody:

I totally agree but most of them aren't Contagion modders. They are just normal players like you who read the tutorial how to make a phone background or custom flashlight and uploaded it just for fun.

I have no problem with the phonebackground mods at all. They're superficial and basically don't do anything other than providing a more unique flavor to the phone itself. They're incredibly easy to make and don't require much effort at all, unless you design one from scratch.

That said making a map for the game is just so much more work which takes a lot more time. That's one of the reasons not many maps are out yet. And I need to add more tutorials so people can actually make escape and extraction maps which I will devote my time to very soon.

But there have been some awesome maps in the works and I hope they'll get released shoon and have people playing them !!!
