Most Worskhop Mods not working (except one time they did)
So I got my Steam Deck last month, and I've been playing KoTOR 2 a lot on it. I subscribed to a collection of mods, and whenever I play, I see the "TSLRCM" logo in the menu, and loading screens, so I know TSLRCM is working. I was also able to skip Peragus, so I know some mods worked. However none of the texture, graphic, ui, or more seem to work. Character, environment, and Weapon textures are the same, UI is the same, even though I'm subscribed to like 32gb of graphics mods.

I didn't think much of it, but I was just tweaking my controls tonight, I created a radial menu for easy access, but wanted it to have icons, and you need to use Big Picture mode to do that on Steam Deck still, so I used Big Picture mode, but when I went back to gaming mode, and booted KoTOR 2 up, not only did my radial menu have icons, but all my mods kicked in. The weapon models where higher quality, the textures were all much better, and the UI mods were working. I was happy until I realised I subscribed to some sound, and music mods that I hated. I instantly turned off the game, and unsubscribed to the particular mods I didn't want, but now none of my mods are working again. TSLRC logo still in menus, but that's it.

No idea what caused them to kick in, but they've stopped working again now. I thought it might have something to do with Big Picture mode, but none of my attempts to replicate what I did caused the mods to kick in. I validated my files too, and that did nothing. I don't know if this is Steam Deck issue, or just a Workshop issue. When I played on PC I remember Workshop working fine for me.

Does anybody know what could be causing this issue? Is there a way to force the game to use ALL the workshop mods installed? I know they are installed properly, because they worked once.

Firstly: You can't run a ♥♥♥♥ ton of mods without also running TSLPatcher. You end up running into conflicts, either Textural glitches or Crashes. I don't know if the Patcher has a Steam Deck Port, I don't even know if it needs it (I would assume probably since Steam Deck runs a modified version of Linux. I'd ask over on Deadlystream.) Most common bug you'd run into is Textures/Sounds/Models just not working (Mesh Conflicts are the most likely to cause crashes. So, be careful of any mod that changes the physical model of an item as it likely also changes meshes)

Secondly: Be careful what you're downloading off the Workshop. You wont have to worry about damaging your hardware or anything, but a large chunk of the mods on the workshop are stolen, badly ported and typically outdated versions of existing mods you can find on Nexus or Deadlystream. Some of them literally will not work Via the Workshop. Generally anything uploaded by 2CRI should be avoided.

If the Mod doesn't work, I would try to get in touch with the Mod Author as the File Structure could be different and may require extra steps. Again, it might be the same. I've never ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with Steam OS before, but I would assume it's probably different to Windows and that's what the lion's share of KOTOR 2 mods were made for.

Steam Workshop is very basic and simple.
It's literally just a platform that installs mods the only way it knows how to do it.
It doesn't check for conflicts, It doesn't organize loadorders, It doesn't warn you if something is outdated. It doesn't even name the file that the mods are stored in. IT just gives it a long Number which can be insanely annoying if you have to, for whatever reason, find the location of mods or install something manually.

But, back on topic: I would remove all the mods you know aren't working and then install them one at a time. 32 gigs... Might take you a while to do it. It could be a simple conflict. Something either not wanting to play with the other mods or something not wanting to play with the Steam Deck it's self.

Sorry guys, I actually solved this like the day after I posted this question !

I went to where my KoTOR 2 Workshop mods were installed, found the folder for TSLRCM, and basically dragged all the contents in the other mod folders into that one. That did the trick.
