Missing characters

I'm playing the game in portuguese, but most of the mods don't have portuguese translation so their name is always in english. I went to the game files to add translations, but whenever i put letters with accents like á or ã in the game they just show up as little squares. The official translation has a lot of letters with accents that appear normally, so idk what's happening.

How strange. My only guess is that you might be saving the file back in non-UTF-8 encoding e.g. ASCII. Most accent characters aren't within the ASCII range of characters and need UTF-8 encoding to work.

I won't go into all the details on how encoding works but if you download Notepad++ (https://notepad-plus-plus.org/) and open the files in that, you should be able to save with UTF-8 encoding.

To make sure, ensure the 'Encoding' setting in the menu bar is set to UTF-8. I can't guarantee that will work, but this is my best guess at why the characters you are inputting might not be recognised by the game engine.
