I've tried many mods of the forum, and looked code when I was learning how to mod EL, and they are not easely portable because their structure.
You can see here firsts mods made by miself, crixter, zentractor, all these mods have only new stuff inside. They don't conflict with other part of the game, and are "extensions". Most of the time, you will have possibility to play it all together, eventualy with a priority order.
In others mods, there is full copy of standard game files. It will conflict or overwrite. They need to be cleaned and stongly rewrite, extracting only useful code.
