Custom Story Idea's Megathread
I guess i'll be the first to make a post in the workshop discussion.

Anyone have any idea's on what custom stories they are going to make or want to be made? post your ideas here. :steamhappy:

A story from the eyes of a crewmember when the WAU first started doing destructive things would be cool. Like seeing the panic of everyone as the first monster is spotted and how things quickly go downhill from there .

You could do a continuation from the second simon after the third simon spares his life (In the part wher h switches over to a high presser suit)

It would be interesting to see the monsters from Amnesia added to Pathos-II along with default monsters. Imagine walking though the Ocean and seeing a Brute come riding in on a robot shark and the theme to Full House starts playing.

But seriously, a mixture of both worlds would be interesting and plenty of story to play around with.

I kind of really like the idea of "continuations" from the Simons who get left in Omnicron and later Phi.

Omnicron Simon wakes up, with no sign of Catherine or the Power Suit. Logically, he comes to the conlusion she put herself in it and took the Omnitool with her. So his next step is escaping Omnicron, which is now quickly being overrun with WAU creatures. Perhaps he finds the DUNBAT? That kind of felt like a forgotten plot thread after it ran off.

Phi Simon is obviously left alone in the now darkened Phi and Theta sites, forces to avoid hostile sea life as he tries to make his way back up, possibly hoping to get to the surface.

Other than that, a story set on the ARK itself would be kind of interesting. Perhaps, somehow, the WAU got itself onto the ARK and begins manifesting in their utopia. Panic obviously sets in, and Simon and Catherine need to find a way to stop it without all their fancy robot powers.

I would be interested to see a story with multiple Simons interacting and having to work through their situation.

Playing as one of the two people sent to upsilon to seal off the helpers and make sure the power would stay on might be fun. Could even re-use some of the audio files.

... Can you play the door unsealing animation in reverse to seal doors?

My idea: You play as the real (human) Simon. You know that you won't live for long so you decided to do things you like. For example traveling. So, once you go to somewhere (now its not important) and you found a castle. Your time is limited and honestly, what can you loose? And that's where comes the Amnesia part. That's the main idea. So if i'll have time, i'll try to do this. Of course if I manage to script a simple intro without getting tons of errors. Honestly, after HPL2 (Amnesia:TDK) it's like a chaos... So after I manage to learn this scripting I'll start it. And maybe I'll extend the story with time-travel but not now.

This is what I'd like to see also, either of these scenarios. If there was ever to be DLC of this game, the first idea you mentioned would be the way to go.

Personally, I think we should look more into what happened at Omega site. I believe that's the only part of PATHOS II that the player never visits, partially because it's the surface site of PATHOS II. Perhaps something involving a journey to Omega's ruins?

Other than that, I refuse to believe that everyone in Theta site is gone- unlike Omicron, the people in Theta had a chance at survival. Many bodies are absorbed by the WAU, but still... it's a big list.

I like the idea of picking up where Simon2 wakes up. One thing that made for SOMA's appeal was the existential horror, and that should be the focus of any new content. Something to consider: all of the baddies you've met are most likely warped and insane human brainscans. Those are Simon's only "friends" now (at least until Simon3 shows up), and exploring the hell they're going through would make for excellent content. Puzzles involving getting a few of them back into some semblance of sanity is a gameplay option. So is trying to re-establish control of the WAU (assuming that it was destroyed). Machinery puzzles could involve getting Pathos II semi-operational.

Radio contact with the surface can also add to the horror without significantly adding to the difficulty of making it (since it's all audio and maybe some footage on screens). Also providing more information on what happened and the lead-up to the impact. You wouldn't want to go through all the bases again, but Simon could work out a good one to set up camp at.

Personally I'd absolutely love to make some new content, but realistically I would never have the time to do it myself.

What sort of goal would Simon.2 have to set for himself? And how would he come upon this goal? He's kinda roped into launching the ARK by his dialogue with Catherine and that sets him up with a goal. But with Simon.2 being alone and unable to reach the ARK we'd have to either craft a personal dialogue that sets up his next goal or introduce some kind character, text, or event that would give him a new goal.

I have the thought that Catherine could have copied herself before she and Simon.3 went down the elevator. Taking the assumption that Simon.3 didn't unplug Simon.2, Catherine could have copied herself into another Omnitool or something else nearby, (perhaps something only capable of displaying text, as a mod would not likely be able to get the voice actor) and this would allow her to reprise her role as a guide for Simon and a catalyst for their new goal.

I don't know how much I like this specific idea, as it feels like it reprises too much from the main game and doesn't branch off on it's own. As well, the interactions between Simon and Catherine following Simon.3's leaving Simon.2 are already so fantastic and fulfilling I don't think anymore could be added to the characters by having back together for more dialogue. I'd like to see something new in that regard.
