"Steam Client must be running in able to publish"
Finished a dumb little map I wanted to post to Workshop, I mostly figured out how to upload it an make the HPC file with user credit, description, organize to right folders, modify the resources and config file to reflect my own map, set publishedID to blank, etc. But the last thing I can't seem to get over is every time I try to publish, it says I need to be connected to Steam, obviously I am, but wondering if there's something I need to do additionally to go through?

---

Here's what I have right now:

.hpc file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Content Author="AestheticGamer" InitCfg="config/main_init.cfg" Type="StandAlone" Title="SOMA On Crack" Description="The first user-made SOMA map, was just messing around with stuff for a few hours to learn the program." PublishedId=""/>

resources file: <Resources>
<Directory Path="/assets" AddSubDirs="true"/>
<Directory Path="/script" AddSubDirs="true"/>
<Directory Path="/maps" AddSubDirs="true"/>
</Resources>

main_init.cfg file changes: <Directories
MainSaveFolder = "SOMA On Crack"
BaseLanguageFolder = "config/"
GameLanguageFolder = "config/lang_main/"
/>
<Variables
GameName = "SOMA On Crack"
/>
<MainMenu
File="main_menu.hpm"
Folder="maps/"
Pos=""
/>
<StartMap
File = "SOMAoncrack.hpm"
Folder = "maps/"
Pos = "PlayerStartArea_1"
/>

I saw this problem posted somewhere else earlier, it seems a few people are having trouble with getting uploaded to the workshop. Everything seems to look alright, so hopefully it's on Steams end. I'm sure a update will be released soon to fix this issue.

We might have broken the mod support during the patch updates for SOMA, we are looking into this now and will fix asap.

Temp fix is to create a steam_appid.txt file in the game folder, next to the soma.exe. Open it and enter 282140 save the file. This should fix so that the modlauncher does not complain about the steam api and that the moduploader works without complaining steam is not running.
