Dr Pedler character mod
Hey, while we all waiting for updates and dlc, you can check character "restoration" mod, which add Dr.Pedler, cyborg who didn't make it to final game (actually was splitted to Dr.Xu and Sharp)
There is no way to mod in new characters (at least yet), but his assets still in game, so it wasn't hard to add him back.

It's not compatible with current game build I guess =\
I thought that I'd better wait for dlc/mod api to make it work again and in more convenient way.

Oh don't worry still have some old comp and builds.
Or else will tinker with it in rar mode.

Still awesome work was expecting them to have released the DLC by now.
Guess they are making it bigger, but Xcom 2 got delayed so needs something else to play.

Maybe they just can release this one in a update soon.
Cause am getting a bit bored before I totally start to change everything.

Character itself can be added, but it's "personal shield" seems to break game now, it use some old code from pre-alpha, but looks like after upd11 game code changes too much for it (after hour or two of trying to fix it I was too lazy to do step back and just remove it). Not sure about anything else, I guess I'll try to make version without it and will update zip on forum.

Don't need personal shields :) anyway you wanted it to be disposable not cooldown per turns.
So it should be scripted differently.

But truth is you should only make one version of personal shield. not three.
Check the new guards with personal shield 3 walls for references.
Cause those shield are like cloaking device but makes you immune to almost all the NPC weapons.

No-no, those shields was working unlike current enemies shields: it's like +1hp and literally pop when you get a shot (but more shield layers can be added after cooldown). Works like a chance/+step to escape from overwatch.
Reason why it was with cooldown instead of being disposable is because shield does not transferred between levels. But now I think that maybe 1 use per mission, like flurry gun have, would be less overpowered (can't remember why didn't done that, maybe because that "trait" not worked for items, only for weapons, and I had no idea where to dig. Now I think: if it have cooldown +99 it would be the same. Damn).

Btw after last update you can check Rush (agent from dlc) if you use in animdefs.lua "data/anims/characters/agents/agent_rush.abld" and "data/anims/characters/agents/grp_agent_rush.abld". No portrait or anything else, but you can use her as "skin" for existing agent or make something yourself.

hmm you could always use charges per shield like the prototype buster chip.
So only one charge per console.

Was thinking of modding the flurry gun like that so it uses console charges instead of power from incognita.

It is not trait you should be copying but the abilities. those script lines do copy over.
Flurry gun properties is "idle"
You don't need energy weapon, the "idle" part should point to the one game per usages.
That is what I assume (so I could be wrong) haven't gotten indept with the scripts yet.

So I could be totally wrong.

If idle makes it already on use, then you need to ad usages (cause shots are for weapons) = X (number of usages for that person) the flurry gun has 3 shots before it needs to be passed over.

So hope this helps Shirsh in brain storming your perfect personal shield.

drake_hound I'd be happy if you check shields in field (it still works as before though)
I also gave him +3 pwr per melee strike, to make him different from alt-Xu with his +2pwr from any item, can't see is it OP or not.
