How do you upload maps to the workshop?
I made a map for Duke Nukem 3D fifteen years ago and it's been hanging around on my HDD's ever since - I never did upload it to the internet, I wasn't sure how to in those early days! I've got the .MAP file as well as two PDF's and a .txt as well as a bunch of .voc files to replace original sounds. How do I get this lot onto the workshop?

Ahh, you mean I have to buy the game on Steam to do this? I got the game on GOG ages ago.

Well, workshops would be flooded if it wasn't restricted to Steam game owners I expect ^^'

You may ask a friend or wait until it is 75% off :/

Okay, second question. I just bought Duke on Steam. How do I load up my old map and voc's to check that it still works before adding it to the workshop?

I believe you have to place the files in the gameroot folder, not with the EXE file.

Right, I did that and slecting to load a user map after running classic Duke I see only three maps: _SE.MAP, _ST.MAP and _ZOO.MAP.

Well I published it - and subscribed to it...don't know how to play it though. Does it matter that my Steam games are on E: not C: where the OS is?

It shouldn't matter, if Steam can install games on different disks and can handle the workshop, they sure thought of this :)

Well, how do I run my map? There's a console command I think, can't remember what that is though.

Subbing a map puts it in gameroot. Shouldn't it be in gameroot\classic?

They go into the 'gameroot/workshop' folder. It was listed in the singleplayer user maps via megaton edition and it works with megaton just fine. :)

My map doesn't work with the Megaton edition, visually. It was made 15 years ago and does not look right with the hi-res textures and 3D; I already found that out with the GOG version. Oh and the files don't go to the Workshop folder - it puts them in gameroot where Classic Duke can't find them so put the map file and the 19 .vocs in gameroot\classic and it works fine.

I don't know, it looks fine to me. (for a map made in 1999 (and works fine)) You are not subscribed to the beta, perhaps? For me, it added the map to 'gameroot/workshop/maps' folder, all .vocs and everything included in a zip.

Strange. Didn't work like that for me. Maybe because I was subscribing to own map? The Workshop\maps folder is empty for me.
