Detective Jane's new update!
So I know many of you right now would be like "Man, you've been working on that game hard for the past 6 months! It must be like somewhat hardcore, bro!" and I understand you. Truth to be told is that the game's late due to two things: slacking (yeah, that happens) and college work. And the reason I have slacked in the development of this game is because I lost motivation to continue working on it on several occasions. But I came back and decided to push forward to finish the case.

For those who downloaded the demo and played the Steam version, there were people who have reported various bugs like the gun turning into a dog and such. The team and I are actually grateful about it! We learned that, even as developers of the game, there will be something that will slip under the cracks. Considering we have other focuses, I wouldn't actually doubt that there are other errors lurking around. But we have fixed many of the concerns and the bugs that were reported on the feedback!

Today, I will be announcing that the game COULD be ready for tomorrow, Saturday 14. I use the word "COULD" because I have Full Sail assignments that actually are a set priority right now (I don't want to fail this class! I have 2 straight F's right now! D:). And having the assignments and tests set as a priority, there's a chance that I might take it slow today. Plus, many of the team is also having some spare time with their vacation or their college work. But I will definitively work on the final kinks of the game!

Since I didn't release an update on the changes, I might as well write them now:

- In the Demo version, Darren was a white detective man. The team and I decided that Darren will be black in the final version.

- Carla no longer dies after investigating her. We have changed a bit how her role and behavior in the story.

- While interrogating suspects, we cut off the part where you ask the suspect questions. These questions were based off the items that you found. But since it is RPG Maker VX Ace, it kind of got messy and tedious that we decided to have the evidence displayed on top of tables inside the interrogation room and ask the suspect about them by interacting with them. It is simple enough for players to understand and cleaner for us developers to work with if there is a reported bug about it.

- We started with the addition of several other locations and have the player inspect the areas for more clues. After a while, we decided to scratch off the feature and just keep it as an interrogation deal. However, we saw that the player could be confused without some outside evidence to support his accusations so we kept SOME areas. Although, they will be MUCH smaller and shorter than previously planned.

-In the mansion, there was a lot of blood. We decreased the amount of blood to keep it a bit "realistic" because no one would lose that much blood.

- (If there is time) We bought the Humble Bundle deal from a few days back, and one of the resource packs came with Police outfits. We saw that they were a better fit for the game and maybe change the cops' attire.

- We have the complete soundtrack of the game! Made by a Newgrounds composer that we found in the forums section! The team loves it, especially some members of the local IGDA chapter.

- We were going to add the ability to wander around the Police Department, but we then decided not to complicate ourselves. Maybe in Case Two.

- We also have decided that the Steam Workshop version might be superior to the Non-Steam version. How so? We're going to make the updates in Steam Workshop work like the decisions made in Case One unlock some dialogues in other cases. This is something the team and I talked through and we're still deciding.

- We added the feature that you can only accuse a suspect IF you found motive with conclusive evidence. Otherwise, the suspect will not be convicted.

It is somewhat of a list, but we want to release this game and learn from the feedback. We thank those who liked the demo and those who reported bugs and gave feedback! We don't want to disappoint!

Until the next update! Or release of the game!

Wow, as I haven't been a member of this community for long, I didn't know about this game and I wish I did. :D Keep up the good work! I am certainly going to try this game out!

Thanks, guys! I've recently been working with my Full Sail assignments so the game will be ready when it is. But it's only missing a few things, so you could say it's just almost done. I've also been visited by some programmers to create a different game, so I've been juggling a design document and the work of Detective Jane.

Definitively going to push this through!
