Workshop Upgrades?
Not sire if this would be something Steam itself needs to do but if its a stardock thing I hope a dev sees this.

As expected there is already a stupidly ridiculous amount of Star Trek and Stars Wars Ship Designs.
Yay 10 Points for originality to all the makers of said ships.
Ok back to seriousness now.
Despite the above feigned criticism, I am not against the creation of a good portion of them.
I mean they are better than a lot of the designs I come up with.
However, I would like a means to filter them out of the workshop list so that I do not see the Star Trek and Star Wars inspired ships.
They would make more sense if they were added as a ship style instead of separate ships.
Unfortunately custom ship styles do not work in online multiplayer games (yet).
So just a means to filter out ships by keyword or something.
That way Star Trek and Star Wars could be set as keywords so they either show up as separate lists or as a means of filtering them out.
There are Currently 1,909 custom ships on Workshop and its seems after browsing the first couple 30 long pages maybe 20 have not been Star Trek and Star Wars related.
This makes it really hard to find all of the Original designs made by others.

Simple solution... as one of the creators of Star Trek ship designs.... over look them. No one is asking you or forcing you to download them or even look at them. If you do not like the designs simply ignore what you dont like and move onto what you do like.

Its not Stadock that has control over how they are presented on workshop, that is under Steams control. Yes there are many fans of Star Trek and Star Wars who play the game who wanted to give other fans something we could actually enjoy playing with a theme.

I dont think your giving the designers of those ships a fair shake, I myself started my Star Trek designs way back in the Alpha 2 testing stage of the game. I have had hundreds of players asking me for my ships which I was happy to provide.

Yes, I am a bit disappointed you made such a post when you can simply ignore Star Wars and Star Trek ships posted in the workshop. As for the rest of the fans, I hope they enjoy the ships as much as the creators enjoyed making them.

Sorry, I disagree wih you. Nothing needs to be filtered out. Just ignore them.

Budroi I started to get mad but decided to look at it form your view altho there are plenty of ships that are not star trek and star war they are harder to find. what I would do is hit the list form the las page and go up see if that helps also one you find a ship that is not of both those styles look up that designers other ships and see if you look them if you do then follow that desginer to get all the new stuff they do. This may help you some.

I would like to say that first I was not trying to put them down in any way. Which is why I mentioned "feigned criticism", meaning it was a joke. Mainly because sooner or later someone is going to make the same criticism and actually mean it. Moving on, I use more than a few from both. I was looking to see if there were ways to filter the search because those styles do dominate the collection of available ships. I have looked over every ship mod available so far and subscribed to any I found pleasing.

Additionally my request\Question works out on a long term scale. Think about it, currently the game is still early into its release and there are already just short of 2000 mods available to look through. Imagine the amount available a year from now. lets say for example that the amount triples within 6 months so we now have around 6000 ships to look through. the only filter we have is by hull size. that could easily be lists of over 1000 ships with a max view of 30 ships (I think the limit is 30 per page). Without more advanced filtering the lists would take extensive amounts of time to go through. Alot of good ships will end up falling through the cracks.

OK, I see your point as well. I would then encourage the authors of ships and factions to make collections of thier work to make it easier to find and download.

altho this will help there some that want just a race an their style ship or just races or just ships!! so there got to be a happy medium!
