Selective limb Peeler?
I know about the Peeler, but it shreds all limbs rather than individual ones. You can potentially throw pants on and have the arms get popped off first, but you can't just have one arm be selected. You can also stand in acid to melt your legs, but you can't just melt one off. You're stuck trying to just HOPE the enemies of the world manage to attack only that one limb you want gone

So what about a mod that adds in 4 new Peelers. Each one ONLY does damage to a specific limb. I'm not exactly sure how the Peeler works, but assuming it isn't hardcoded to damage ALL limbs, copying it and disabling some limb slots could work. I am no modder though so I am just guessing here

The peeler function is hardcoded, unfortunately.

If you don't mind save editing, it's pretty simple to pop off specific limbs that way.

I've seen that guide, however I haven't found it too helpful

For example, the guide where it talks about limbs, it says open their MEDICAL STATE file, but neglects to tell you where you can find that and how to tell them apart. I found the location, but I see no way to tell them apart. I have 5 people in my squad so without any kind of indicator for which unit the med state file is for, I could potentially pop off the wrong unit's arm

It also doesn't specify which "flesh" part is which limb

That guide is more like a rough summary of what save editing is, not how to fine tune it

Unfortunately no, it's all or nothing. The easiest way to lose a specific limb is save editing, as mentioned above. The only other real way to target is stuff like getting hit once in the right limb for enough damage (20+) to cause it it bleed. Then just don't heal it.

How to find the medical state file is explained in the getting started section. The search, columns, or changes tab are how you find specific entries. Also goes through how when editing characters you should separate them to their own squad, to avoid having to sift through multiple characters worth of entries. That section is the common information needed for almost any edit, to avoid having to repeat it all every single specific section.

And the section that talks about flesh values does tell you what order they are in, it says they are in the order they show up in-game. Which it says because it's not always the same for all characters. Some races can have different parts, and sometimes there are unusual bugs that can switch your parts around in the list.
