The falling ROCK removes my PORTAL on hit [MY CUSTOM MAP] - Help
EXPLANATION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I invented a new mechanic in Portal! The rock falls from tube, and when it hits you, you're getting pushed, BUT, you can use these rocks to launch yourself somewhere in that way (like how Demoman or Soldier use explosions to jump higher), and I involved it to my custom map!

The concept is: you place portal to the spot where rock lands, and another portal under yourself, and in perfect timing, when rock goes through your portals, you jump in your portal, just when the rock flies out of it, and it launches you to the air! It being used to reach some of the unavailable spots

PROBLEM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has one issue that players will get annoyed of. Sometimes when rock hits the portal, it doesn't go through, imstead it hits the flat ground and removes portal, and you endlessly hear the sound effect of portal getting removed, and you can't place portal back to that spot because it keeps removing it

Is there something I do wrong? I could show extra materials such as images or videos of my map if you want, for more clearer picture of what I'm saying.

Now I get why this happens. Because that rock is a brush. But I tried this with using actual model instead of brush, but it works odd. Works perfectly, but that makes a littrle strugle, also it was more satisfying with the brush version. I'm still solving this now...

this mechanic is actually kindof interesting. :) i wouldnt be able to figure it out without the vmf file but i hope you'll be able to solve the issue, and possibly refine the mechanic more once you do.

just out of curiosity though, are you using vscripting for this or just hammer logic entities?

Hammer. I use a simple spherical brush, and made it as a physic_override entity, which breaks on touch. Originally it was supposed to be explosive, but the rocks turned to be better! I know nothing about scripting unfrotunately. Also, it makes no sense to look into vmf, since I found the reason why this happening (we all know that we can't place portal on moving surfaces, it's Portal's logic, so when the rock hits NEAR the portal, the portal considers it somehow as an attempt to combine ground and the rock as two brushes on hit, so portal goes off). Although this works. When rock removes your portal, you place your secondary portal AT FIRST, then the primary portal to the rock landing spot, and your portal gets removed only if you weirdly contact/collide with the rock and portal. But I will fix that somehow, while working on the rest of the map. The map is minecraft styled by the way (including models, playermodels, and materials). Thank you for reading this! I feel like a genius now, this is really something good of me, I hope to finish the map whenever I get chance!
