I just wanted to put it out there I think it it would be way more strategically interesting if armies could only be dropped in occupied cities where there would be an airport. Modern day invasion plans often revolve around capturing enemy airports such in Ukraine with Hostomel airport and I think it would make it more interesting for the attacker to have to plan more carefully plus there would now be more of a border build up/naval presence that would give clear warning signs to the defender. Since this game often favours the aggressor slightly too much this might make the game more balanced and tense!
