Its not in the tech tree - you have to find it from an encrypted schematic picked up in loot or (i think...) purchased from one of the scrapyard/colonist traders (that latter part I'm not 100% sure of) but it's definitely available as a schematic, and NOT in the tech tree.

I completed the quest and I got the schematic. I then researched it at the UHC vessel. Now I need to unlock it in my tech tree. When I open the universal constructor, I see it is locked still. Where is it in the tech tree.

When I mouse over the template in the constructor, it says "Unlock in tech tree (F3)" at the bottom. It would be nice if it gave a hint where it is in the tree.

So you unlocked the encrypted schematic which became the industrial mining rig. Did you then use the Schematic computer again to unlock the schematic using the UCH, Pirates, Zirax, Alien or other technology types? it is NOT unlocked from the tech tree, it is done via schematics.

Once you've done BOTH steps it should be available in your constructor - you DO NOT unlock it via the tech tree.

I know what it says - but trust what i am telling you - you NEED to follow the instructions that I have given you. You MUST unlock it via the schematics computer. I am in the game right now. I have given myself the appropriate token - gone to the UCH ship, unlocked it via the schematics computer. IT DOES NOT APPEAR IN THE TECH TREE - YOU UNLOCK IT VIA THE UCH SHIP SCHEMATIC COMPUTER. I cannot explain this any other way. ALL ENCRYPTED SCHEMATICS ARE UNLOCKED VIA THE SCHEMATICS COMPUTER ON THE UCH SHIP AND NOT IN YOUR TECH TREE.

They can be de-crypted via a science station, but you MUST USE THE SCHEMATICS COMPUTER to actually unlock them to use them in your constructors

I am telling you that I already did all that. I explained in the initial post. I did take the schematic, which I purchased for 3 mil, to the UHC vessel. I unlocked it at the schematic computer. I think it was under civilian tech. It was not encrypted, BTW. The schematic then disappeared after unlocking. There is nothing else I can do with it, since it is gone.

I am playing RE2. Perhaps you are thinking of an earlier version.

I have given you the instructions on where and how. I cannot be clearer on how it is unlocked, or made accessible. It is not from the tech tree. It is ONLY via the UCH ship/Schematic computer. Did you have a connected inventory when unlocking? That is the only other thing that could have happened. I have unlocked the item, in the way it is supposed to be done, and it is available for me to build in my universal constructor. If you believe that there is now a problem, then report this as a bug in the scenario over on the GitHub set-up by Ravien for this purpose. Details for this are on the front page of the RE2 scenario page. I am not going to engage further.

I see where it says unlocked via schematic, but you can see my screen shot. It is still locked and the schematic and my 3 mill are still gone.

I did not have a connected inventory, as I teleported to the ship. The schematic computer recognized the schematic as in my inventory.

Is there a way to generate another schematic via the command console?

You bought the wrong schematic.

Because if it was the right schematic it would have unlocked it. You bought the one for the drills. You need to go back and buy the one for the industrial auto mining device and turn that one in.

I bought the one that cost 3 mil. You are saying it was wrong. The Polaris contact was telling me that the schematic I wanted was 3 mil. During the quest I was examining the industrial auto mining devices, so I thought that was what I was getting.

Yes, I know that. I bought the most expensive. Then next most expensive was 1 mil.
