Just to make sure I understand, the mod manager is saying that the mods are active (ticked boxes to the right of the mod name), but when you play any type of game the mods are not active? Even if you start a new sandbox?
That is very strange, I don't think I've ever seen anyone else encounter an issue like that.
Would you be able to share a screenshot of your mod manager screen open, so we can see the tick boxes? Also try clicking on some of mods and make sure they say "Mod loaded successfully" at the bottom. If this is the case, they really should be active in the game, I really can't see a circumstance where they wouldn't appear.
One thing I will mention is that when you load up an old saved game or use "resume game" from the menu, if a mod is missing, then any objects that use that mod will automatically delete themselves. Then if you save the game or simply quit and use 'resume game', the autosave will have been overwritten so those objects are gone forever. This would have been my best guess for why things might have gone from your campaign save.
What I cannot explain is why starting a new sandbox or restarting a level of the campaign from scratch is not including the mods.
It's worth you sending over a copy your log file so I can check if there are any errors as the mods load.
Here's where the log file is:
Windows: C:\Users\<insert username>\AppData\LocalLow\Twice Circled\Megaquarium\Player.log
Mac: ~/Library/Logs/Twice Circled/Megaquarium/Player.log
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Twice Circled/Megaquarium/Player.log
Here's a link which explains how to find the 'Library' folder on Mac: https://www.macinstruct.com/tutorials/how-to-open-the-library-folder-on-your-mac/
You can either upload it somewhere and post a link, or open the file in notepad, copy the contents and paste it into https://pastebin.com/ and post a link to that.
So sorry its been a hot minute, and thanks for looking at this.
I've tried looking for the below ...
Windows: C:\Users\<insert username>\AppData\LocalLow\Twice Circled\Megaquarium\Player.log
... exactly as its written (with my name username inserted of course) and could not find it, which may explain the issue? But I am not sure. Really bad at this ToT
An update to the issue, i've tried using mods on my macbook and it all runs smoothly so I am suspecting that it is a issue with my laptop. Other than the issue with mods refusing to load no matter where on my laptop I put the game or how many times I unsub/resub to them the game works great! As if there is no issue.
It's been long enough that I dont miss the mods so am getting back into it :D
Yep that is indeed correct. sandbox on any level (I tried a few) and the career mode.
I've tried to upload a screenshot but couldn't figure out how (big dum dum here so sorry). I'll try double checking the mods to see if they say 'Mod loaded successfully'.
