Do you need Charging cut-off for Shuttle Batteries?
I just created my first ever shuttle to retrofit to my scout ship which I've tried to keep as simple as humanly possible. Though my shipbuilding knowledge isn't what it used to be due to long hiatus.

I have the shuttle set up to charge via the docking port with a switch running from the shuttle batteries to the power grid so there is no drain until I start the shuttle's power.

Is it necessary or even worth it to throw in a cut-off between the main ship and the docking port? I'm more worried that there will be passive conditional deterioration from having it on charge 24/7.

I know there are probably fancier ways to automate charging, but I'm trying to keep part count as low as possible.

Turned out I already had a spare switch from the time I had a depth charge. This is about as good a use for it as anything else.

I think this is probably a smart idea to save power for when you really need it on the main ship.
