How to upload overlays?
I'm trying to upload a few overlays to the workshop, and I can't figure out how. It seems you can only publish effects, but no other types of workshop items, like overlays.

Am I just stupid, or is the workshop half baked and poorly documented?

No media is allowed to be directly published to the Workshop due to the risk of users hosting content they may not own the rights to. You should visit the NVG Community Discord[discord.gg] if you want to share media with others.
Then might I ask "Why does the workshop have categories that are literally unused?"

Also, I see "Mario Kart Wii music" in one of them submissions on the workshop. It's been up for about a year now.

Holes in your logic, detected.

You could just go the Gmod workshop route and just let people upload whatever. If big company issues a takedown notice, then you take down a submission. Simple as that.

But I'm guessing you don't feel like gathering moderators to handle that stuff, so aight.

The categories on the Workshop are used to indicate what libraries are being used by effects. For example, Spadinner has the option of pulling media from the Sound FX library.

I should point out that other softwares' Workshops allow this type of content, such as Wallpaper Engine, however they have a much larger audience and therefore would receive a lot more reports which would make moderation easier.
I am currently the only moderator for the Workshop.

I will consider the possibility of posting library media but for the most part, submissions are considered to be extensions of the software itself.

NVGNext (the port of NVG from MonoGame to Godot) may feature support for this if it's not too difficult to implement.
