Mod Request: Effect that gives all AI heroes and leaders Quick Learning
It feels like it should be so easy to do, but apparently making a mod from scratch requires a lot more understanding than just copying some resources and tweaking it like I'm used to. I want to make it on my own, but it's clear to me that it's going to take me probably a few weeks of reviewing the mod manual to finally understand what I'm doing, since I have indeed been trying but failing.

The basic idea that I was trying to accomplish is to make an Empire Upgrade -- free to all AI players yet can't be researched by human/irl players -- which gives all their heroes and leaders Quick Learning (but doesn't transfer over to you if you convert one of their heroes, or if a leader surrenders to you).

My reasoning for why this would be good is because all AI heroes and leaders end up being around half the level of my own leader/heroes throughout every game. Thus, they always feel so lackluster to fight, whereas I think it'd feel a lot better if they felt like true boss units.

I don't think there needs to be any icons nor descriptions added for this, because it just needs to apply Quick Learning for AI factions, and not an original spell/ability.

I will keep trying to accomplish it on my own, but I'm sure it will take me quite a while. At least I will have a much better understanding of making original resources if I can do it on my own eventually.

It would probably be better, if possible, to create a new effect with two iterations that apply 1.5x xp and 2x xp instead of just slapping Quick Learning on the units. I think it'd be better if the effects were just hidden from the unit panel.

Anyway, I know this isn't a very active mod community nowadays. If anyone feels like doing it, I'd be more than happy to help with testing and bug reporting.
Quite small community and most mod makers have moved on.

I know there is a a.i unique property that sort of heal ai health faster to make them better after combat. Especially that machines regain health which they otherwise don't normally since they the player has to heal machine themselves.

Im not 100% if its possible to accomplish what you ask for and I don't have time either.

But I can sort of point you in a direction.

In TITLE.rpk you have plenty of settings concerning global user settings.

In HEROGLOBALSETTINGS.RPK you also have resources concerning experience.

In both class skill data.rpk and AowSpellTest.rpk you create new specializations that is unique and full of high xp skills that you can pick for leaders you play against thus making them more viable.
Thanks for the reply. I was getting pretty frustrated, so I decided it was best to take a break. I hadn't thought of looking in TITLE.rpk nor HEROGLOBALSEETINGS.rpk, but thanks for the tip. I'll probably come back to approaching my mod idea after I get a more thorough understanding of what the mod manual can tell me.

I'll try not to exhaust your good graces, but I might ask a few more questions on this post if I can't figure it out with the mod manual, once I get back into trying to make the mod.
