I had a theory that my and maybe others sudden fps drop in 7.5 compared to other builds might have something to with weapons fire as large battles is where it seems to happen.

I used cheats to test with a ton of ships that had either lots of turrets or lots of missing turrets and found that the number of ships wasn't really the problem but the amount of weapons fire was.

I then tested the different weapon types and found no real discernible difference so for a while i was stumped, then it hit me.

Could anyone who knows what they're doing make a quick and dirty mod to disable the shield impact effects for me because i have a theory it's them causing the fps issues and would like to test it.
