Omg we need one asap.. why hasn't anyone made one? Tell me how to do it and I will.... Its a must for us who like to capture ships... If you make it you will end up as the best mod on Steam :)..

trying to see if theres a speed modifier for the Grapple or if its based on the hull or mass of the ship being pulled...

Overload is a little addition we gave to grapplers. There's a chance your grappler makes an overload burst of energy that can damage the shields of the grappled ship. Just a little something.

Now regarding tow speed... hmmm... I'd have to check with the programmers, but I think that's hard-coded. I'm really not sure :S.

EDIT: If it is, and I'm guessing it is, I'll add this to the wish-list for expanding on, so it can be modded.

We've got several more ideas to tackle the towing horror. One is a slight overwork of the whole system that would make it possible to tow ships with higher speed. We need to plug in more of the PhysX into that particular mechanic for it to work, but we'll do it. I hope we'll manage to do it before launch. We should. If not, then immediately after.

Another is a special Salvage beacon so someone else does the work for you. This will take a bit more time, so I don't expect it before launch :S.

Honestly , this is singleplayer.
You could solve the towing problem by simply adding the option

"tow ship to closest base instantly"

the the game would reload at nearest base as if you just docked there.

I think once I get my new gaming rig, I'll attempt to make a mod that uses the grappling hook to throw enemy ships at other enemies. Cuz why not?
