spawning missions are ruining the game and we need to fix it
is there a mod that adds actual debug tools to the game
the amount of times lately I have had mission targets spawn into rocks and be unable to complete the missions has become ridiculous, if it is a Mech then we already made a fix YAML has order 66, which while it works for mechs also kills all enemies and kills the rest of the mission's fun

but buildings are worse and keep spawning underground and even inside of rocks and while sometimes you can teleport just below the ground mesh and walk on the floor spawned with the base to access it other times it can be inside a rock geometry the console command won't allow you to get into

we could also maybe try make a mod to fix the spawns, i have done some investigation and the main problem is with targets that are in from the start and spawned in using garrison spawn point locators or buildings marked as targets, the game spawns enemy bases (garrisons or sub-levels as referred to in this document https://mw5mercs.com/static/docs/MW5%20Mission%20Creation%20Guide.pdf) onto the mission tiles, so I'm sure there is a library of tiles which mesh together which the modding tools may let us go through and test vs each garrison spawn to make sure each spawn point is placed far enough away from terrain deformations in the tiles, 190m for the small ones, 360m for medium and 756m for "full tile" garrisons but this sounds like an absolute ball ache to actually do and really it was Piranha Games's job but they where busy with clans when they added the DLC biomes that are rife with this issue and unfortunately now 40 of them have been laid off so it might be up to us lads.

This document though, covers the creation of custom missions as appear in the campaign so I'm not certain the information it contains is as useful as I think it is
(honestly I'm not sure if they meant for this page to be publicly available through google, trying to go a level up to the menu page by deleting the pdf from the URL results in a 403 forbidden error and I haven't installed the mod tools yet, it's been years since i modded anything )

You must be having the worst luck of all time to have encountered that many cases of buggy spawns... unless, of course, you're using some dubious mods.

But yeah, the whole level generation system tries to match up tiles that can work together, then spawn stuff on top of them like garrisons. Spawn points should be above ground, unless there's an edge case where a spawner was misplaced or the tiles end up overlapping oddly. Obviously more tiles/garrisons = more chances of bad placements.
