Mod request please

I have an idea for a mod, I know it is possible but I don't know a thing about this kind of modding so if someone wouldn't mind I would be very grateful.

The mod is simple, it's to put sabaroids on every planet but to only spawn them at night.

There are other mods that spawn mobs at night so I know it can be done, just not how.

This is a fascinating idea and should not be too difficult to achieve but I would only support it if it includes a new character weapon of a flamethrower, for obvious reasons :D

... actually the spawning at night part might be tricky, detecting the lack of sunlight may be difficult to incorporate at a sufficiently low level, I'm not sure...
