I do have a mod or two that once a year I make a local copy noting the version of Space Engineers at the time, so if the mod is removed without warning and I really want to use it, I could roll back Space Engineers to that version so I can use the local copy.
I've also gotten into the habit of making a hidden GPS with notes I may need, including what mods I started this game with and the goals I intended when starting this save. I hated pulling up old saves going "what was I doing with this????".
