Hi,
modders community is very active even on Discord.

As a generic suggestion, while waiting more detailed replies, you can try to download a similar mod and start examining it.

There is also an example to create a unit type of unit/squad in the game's mods/ folder. Click on the "i" button in the mods menu and will take you there.
