Submarine Recomendations
I'm looking for Tier3 submarine for single player with bots
Functionally I like upgraded Humpback (like Humpback MkII for example)
Problem is... it's drab like vanilla Humpback.
No nice visuals
No interesting features
No windows
No bells
No whistles
No nothing

So any recommendations?
It doesn't have to be balanced since it's for single player.
Just nice looking medium sub, with good gun coverage (4small+2large seems to work the best for me) and layout that allows for quickly go from navigation to using large guns.
I tried Zenith, but it's tad too big (again 3 decks like Humpback feels the best), plus bots ocasionally spaz out
I tried Iroh, but again too big (I liked magnetic field thingy though)

Wow... 4 small and 2 large seems way OP to me for any sub, unless you enjoy being nearly invulnerable. I play through single player with 2 small, maybe a depth charge launcher and maybe a coil. I even found Humpback got a bit boring after a while.

I suppose my most interesting non-OP sub would be the Yellow Submarine (in my Workshop), it's a small scout Tier II but IMO you don't need Tier III as the mechanic can upgrade Tier II to Tier III, so you can start with Tier II and go all the way to the end with the same sub. I prefer to add bells and whistles during my campaigns so I purposefully design subs without most of that stuff. If you want fancy OP then maybe try my Dallas, that is bristling with bells and whistles, and it looks all shiny and fancy (I built this one early days while learning what was possible, before I started to prefer basic subs).

It's mostly due to the fact that, as far as submarine combat goes, I mostly navigate with ocasionally using railguns when targets warrant it.

My most fun is combat and exploration outside the sub.

Intentionally flawed submarines are fun with actual humans, not bots (at least imo)

As far as Dallas goes, it's a nice sub, but I don't see how it's improvement over modded Humpback MkII I'm using.

It has Threat Display for running without active sonar, for one, and lots and lots of switches and levers that do stuff! But yeah for a single player spending most of your time at the nav console it probably wouldn't be that much difference, like almost every sub that uses the standard nav console.
Both look promising, but both have massive issue of railgun controls and loaders being far away from nav terminal
I guess I could just post bots next to them and jump whenever needed, but I hope to avoid this.

posting bots and jumping to them works great for me, i put them right under the captain in the crewlist. but i get your point, you clearly stated that youre searching for fast gun access, so i remembered this one

this one got a weapon controlsystem right next to the nav, but i cant remeber about blindspots

in this one gunnery is just next door to nav ^^;;;

thank you, that was fun remebering and searching for appropriate subs

Wyvern looks interesting
But judging by comments it seems there are functional flaws

Maybe I just give up and build my own sub
Or modify some "close enough" sub

that sounds about right
the feeling of going around in your personal submarine is much better than any other pick,
even if its just modified/edited, it just feels more like home :)

And so it was that he ventured forth into the Submarine Editor, and spent many hours tinkering and fettling, and in the end produced a submarine that was worthy of his needs. In the days and weeks that followed he played many more hours in his Submarine, had many grand adventures, but that is another story.

I'm not sure if it's blessing or a curse :)
