Editor Questions: Detroyable Glass and Dead Bodies
Hey I'm currently working on a little map. I'm still very new to the editor so i have 3 questions:

1: How can i make destroyable glass? I know there is a material option for glass but its not destroyable and i don't know wich Texture i should use for the glass. I want invisible glass (maybe with reflections etc.) that cracks and is destroyable.

2: How can i place dead bodies? I made a legged character from the entity list and gave him a puppet, model (Jones from MP), behavior etc. and tried to put health on 0 but he doesn't die. He should be dead with blood and maybe body parts if it's possible.

3: If i download Mods or addons and place them in the map, do the downloaders have to download the extra content? Or is it included in the Map file?

Thanks for your time :)

1. Destroyable glass can be made if you make destructions to the model that would be the glass. From Mischevious' Tutorials you can learn how to make something that might be similar to glass, he'll probably do the reflections as well in a future video. However, making glass that is destroyable like in some other games, that would be pretty hard job right now, with making new materials and whatnot. However, it is an interesting idea, I'll experiment with it later when I get the time.

2. You don't do that, you modify official resources that way. The best if you press -insert- to add a new model to the world and then you select some of the enemy's gib models (body part models, usually located in the same folder as the normal enemy model, most of the time in the folder "Destruction"). However, these body part models will most likely have mechanisms due to physics, so if you want to place them, you better save the models with a different name and remove the -most likely- local mechanisms of them. Making them bloody could be made with the decal markers, the ones that are on every level, adding things like bullet holes to the walls and such.

3. Everyone has to download those resources and mods, that's why there are resource packs available for download.
thank you very much :) I'll look at the tutorials and try it with what you said.
Another small question: How can i unlink 2 objects? I mean if i press insert and make 2 different objects with shift+x they are both one object in the world editor.

That's weird, shift+x Permanently Hides objects, they doesn't link them, they make them disappear, which is actually a kind of useless thing to do.
Oh i mean shift+x in the mesh editor. Cause when i started editing i used to just press this without going in the world editor and insert a new object. I created walls, ground and ceilings. So my first rooms are just one big object in the world editor and i can't select just one wall to change the texture of it for example.

Again, refer to Mischievous' SedIT videos for tutorials regarding basic modelling and texturing. It's a stickied thread on this forum, so you can find it easily.
ok thanks! i only knew his tutorials on serious sam wiki. :)
